My absolute favorite album of the past few years is Anchor Baby by Rupesh Cartel, which I had the honor of mastering. You may already be familiar with their brilliant remix of my song “Hypothetically.” My absolute favorite song of the past few years is “Imperial,” which was originally part of the tracklist but was later cut. Fortunately, Viktor gave me permission to post it here. You’re sure to spot Rupesh Cartel’s influence on my recent recordings, beyond the drum samples they were nice enough to share with me.

Sorry I never answered your question Rob! Askimet tagged your comment as spam for some reason. Yes, the limited edition is still available at A Different Drum:

Sure have. I kind of got into them a few years back, but wasn’t fully convinced. I’ve had a strong bias for electronic music these past few years though.
Wow. Thanks for posting this. Sometimes, I get so jaded and caught up in my own little sonic world that I think I cannot be surprised or overwhelmed anymore. Alas, I am an artist (and a human) so I constantly crave just such an experience. Listening to this song was kinda just like that. Great stuff. Can’t imagine why it wouldn’t have made the album. Also, I was NOT surprised to find the band is from Sweden. Have you heard Kent btw?
I have this on the limited edition too, and I agree it’s really a stellar song.
I didn’t even know about the “commercial stimulating factor” of the extra trax when I ordered the cd.
Oh, I see! The limited edition CD has it, along with a couple of extra remixes. The iTunes version doesn’t. My faith in humanity is restored, and there is justice in the world.
Yeah, great song and I have to say I own a version of the album which contains 15 songs and “Imperial” is one of them (track 12).
I only recently discovered their stuff, but I like the little bit I’ve heard. I might just have to pick up that album. It’s a shame that song won’t be on it though.
Hmmm. Good track. I think I’ll have to pick up their work!
Great Song and great Album-Cover! I like it.
So, is this song available for purchase anywhere? I like it, and as a big Rupesh Cartel fan it would be great to get it.
