Color Theory

new album release date announced

I am pleased to announce that the next Color Theory album will be released on August 4, 2010.

Allow me to anticipate your questions:

Do you have a title? No.

How many songs have you completed? None.

Have you even started yet? No.

Have you ever made an album in one year? No.

Then why do you think you can do it now? Because I’ve got a very strong incentive.

As a prize for winning a Lennon Award in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, I received a certificate for 1,000 CDs in digipaks from Disc Makers, which expires on June 30, 2010. I consider that a hard deadline!

You can bet I’ll keep you updated on my progress, every step of the way. I’d like to produce some “studio sessions” videos, but if you want the blow-by-blow details, I suggest you follow me on Twitter and/or add me as a friend on Facebook. Hopefully you’ve already subscribed to either the RSS feed or e-mail updates for colortheory.com.

I’ve always thought about doing “Well Enough Alone” but I’d just as soon leave it (get it? leave well enough alone? har). The arrangement/structural ideas I have in mind wouldn’t work with the old stuff anyways. Actually “Girlfriend Stealer” would work but many find that song offensive. :)

If I can do it in 28 days, I’m sure you can do it even better! ;) Looking forward to hearing!

Also “Friends Go” and “Well Enough Alone” would be neat to see in more developed versions.

You do have some songs you could polish up and put on the next album:

“Consumed” & “Girlfriend Stealer” :D
